Are the two chronograph dials on the face and buttons on the side of the bezel functional?

No, the chronographs on our Japanese models are not functional. The chronographs only work on our Swiss model watches, this is a Japanese model and as such the chronographs are for show only. If you want a watch will working sub dials, you will need to buy a Swiss model watch.

Yes, the watch will have a sweeping second hand as the watch is automatic., the movement inside the watch and the rotating gears will cause the second hand to move continuously.
The second hand will not tick.
